Dedicated to Safety, Built on Determination
Emily Gomez brings a deep sense of responsibility and heart to her role as Safety Compliance Coordinator at Tough Stuff Recycling. Born and raised in North Central Massachusetts, Emily is a proud mother of four and stepmother to three, with three grandchildren who inspire her every day.
Her journey into safety leadership is rooted in hard work, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of her team. She joined TSR in 2022, and since then, her growth within the company has reflected both her grit and her passion for creating a safe, supportive work environment.
A Journey of Growth and Purpose
Emily’s professional path began in healthcare, where she served as Environmental Director at a local nursing home. That experience shaped her people-first mindset, especially in environments where attention to detail and empathy go hand in hand. While leaving that role was emotional, she embraced a new challenge when she joined TSR as a Team Lead through a staffing agency.
From the moment she stepped onto the warehouse floor, Emily was determined to grow. Her leadership was quickly recognized, and she rose through the ranks—first as Transportation Manager, and then into her current position as Safety Compliance Coordinator.
Putting People First, Every Day
In her role, Emily is responsible for ensuring all employees stay safe, trained, and prepared. From overseeing OSHA-aligned training programs—such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fire safety, PPE usage, and electrical hazard awareness—to maintaining compliance across departments, she plays a critical role in supporting the health and safety culture at TSR.
“I take pride in making sure that the safety of my employees is number one,” Emily says.
That mindset shows in everything she does, from routine training cycles to encouraging open dialogue around safety concerns. She’s known for her mentorship and team-first approach—guiding others to grow while keeping a sharp eye on compliance and continuous improvement.
Looking Ahead
Emily continues to lead with integrity, care, and an unshakable work ethic. Her contributions support TSR’s broader mission of responsible recycling and operational excellence, proving that when a team feels safe, they can perform at their best.
She sees change not as an obstacle, but as an opportunity—and whether it’s tackling new safety challenges or building stronger teams, Emily is always ready to step forward. Her pride in her family and her work go hand in hand, shaping the compassionate leadership style she brings to Tough Stuff Recycling every day.
