When Tashiana joined Tough Stuff Recycling, she never imagined her journey would evolve into such a critical role. Today, she serves as the Customer Service Manager, representing the voice of the company and leading communications with customers, municipalities, haulers, and partners throughout Massachusetts.

This bio offers a closer look at her inspiring journey—from her beginnings as a volunteer to becoming one of the most integral figures behind TSR’s success.

Building Relationships, One Call at a Time

In her current role, Tashiana helps thousands of Massachusetts residents understand the state’s mattress disposal ban and guides them through the recycling process.

Whether she’s working with solid waste facilities, housing authorities, or everyday residents, she approaches each interaction with care and clarity—answering questions, setting expectations, and making recycling easier for everyone.

She’s also played a key role in communicating TSR’s mission at conferences and industry events. Her ability to explain the impact of mattress recycling in simple, relatable terms helps bridge the gap between policy and the public.

This was when I really realized that my voice mattered,” Tashiana says, recalling her first time speaking at a recycling convention.

Taking a Chance on Tough Stuff Recycling

Joining a brand-new company was a risk—but Tashiana saw it as a rare opportunity.

Being presented with such an opportunity can be something that happens once in a lifetime,” she says. But this opportunity did come with quite a few challenges.”

She knew it would mean personal sacrifices—being far from family, working in a startup environment, and taking on new challenges with little precedent. But she embraced that uncertainty with courage and optimism, committed to helping build something meaningful.

Why Tashiana Loves Working at TSR

What keeps Tashiana going is the knowledge that her work matters. She educates customers about the mattress recycling process, explains how discarded materials are transformed into reusable products, and empowers people to participate in a more sustainable system.

Just sharing that little bit of information piques a customer’s interest,” she says. At that point, they are excited to use our services, and we end the conversation with a thank-you.”

Every conversation she has is an opportunity to make a difference. She finds joy in transforming confusion into confidence and turning frustration into appreciation. Her role allows her to combine service, leadership, and advocacy—all in one place.

Working at Tough Stuff Recycling aligns with her values. It’s not just a job—it’s a calling to do good for the planet and for the community.

Looking Ahead

Tashiana is excited about expanding her role in education and community outreach, particularly in efforts to raise awareness about mattress recycling. She hopes to bring her experience into schools and inspire environmental responsibility among younger generations.

As Tough Stuff Recycling continues to grow, Tashiana remains a key part of its leadership and success. Her bio reflects not just professional advancement, but personal dedication to a mission she believes in. The company’s accomplishments are deeply connected to her commitment, vision, and steady presence.
