FAQ for E-Waste Recycling

Still have questions about E-Waste or “where do I throw away my electronics”? See our FAQ below or contact our team for expert help with E-Waste recycling and more.

What is considered E-Waste?

E-Waste, or electronic waste, includes discarded electronic devices such as computers, monitors, TVs, and servers. At Tough Stuff Recycling, we focus on recycling items like laptops, desktops, flat-screen TVs, and monitors up to 65”, ensuring that valuable materials like metals, glass, and plastics are responsibly recovered.

Do I need to remove data from my devices before recycling?

Yes. For your security, we recommend wiping or removing all personal data before drop-off or pickup. While we handle all electronics securely, taking this step ensures complete data protection.

What happens to the electronics after recycling?

Our team disassembles each device and separates materials like metal, plastic, and glass for reuse. We work with certified recycling partners to ensure every component is processed safely and sustainably, keeping hazardous materials out of landfills.

Do you accept large or specialty items like CRT TVs or appliances?

Currently, we accept flat-screen TVs and monitors up to 65”. We do not accept CRT televisions, large projection screens, or any device containing refrigerants. Please contact your local municipality for proper disposal options for those items.
